We are looking for someone who can bring their experience and take ownership of this vital role within the business.

About the role

An exciting position of Operations Manager has been created to help lead the group into the next phase of growth. Reporting to the General Manager, and a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, this is a critical leadership role responsible for managing all operational functions across the business.

This role involves maximising performance and culture across the areas of customer service, safety, efficiency and compliance. With a focus on continuous development and improvement initiatives in business and operational performance, you will also build and maintain a strong team. You will possess a ‘Can Do’ attitude, ensuring our employees feel valued, recognised and engaged.

Five years’ experience in the transport/logistics industry in a similar position is essential.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing operational performance across multiple divisions to ensure achievement of KPIs, budgets and contractual service level agreements.
  • Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
  • Relationship management, conflict management and resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks and maintaining focus on priorities.
  • Ensuring optimal management and utilisation of fleet and equipment.
  • A strong focus on fatigue management when scheduling.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following attributes:

  • Experience in driving company objectives through engagement of various key internal and external stakeholders including employees and contractors.
  • TLIF0006: Administer A Fatigue Risk Management System Certificate or equivalent certificate.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in transport, logistics or supply chain operations including fatigue and mass management.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large operational workforces in the transport and logistics industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in Compliance and NHVL.
  • Capability to lead and manage change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
