This is a great opportunity for a Senior Mathematics Teacher with the ability to teach Years 7 to 10 Technologies to join a dedicated team at The Glennie School. The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of secondary schooling and the appropriate pedagogy.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in teaching and the subjects identified
  • Registered to teach in Queensland or be eligible to obtain registration
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to Anglican education
  • Have the desire and skills to participate in the School’s pastoral care program
  • Have the desire and skills to participate in the School’s co-curricular program
  • Be able to respond positively to the pressures of a modern classroom
  • Be able to set high standards for student learning and their own performance
  • Deal effectively with the administrative detail of the position
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the necessary cultural sensitivity
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity and work safety

Highly desirable criteria

Teachers who have a deeper understanding of Visible Learning, Visible Wellbeing (Positive Education), high impact learning strategies, and how to implement them in a classroom setting, would be at an advantage.

This position requires a dynamic person who supports innovative classroom practice and inspires within all students an appreciation of this subject. 

The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing an exceptional education for prep, primary and secondary students with boarding from Year 5. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication and professionalism of its staff. 

The candidate must be supportive and sympathetic to the ethos of Anglican Schools and must have a current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
