The Role

As the Senior Financial Accounting Manager, you will lead the Australian accounting and reporting team in financial service delivery with responsibility for the integrity of the financial data and associated financial reporting outputs. This comprises of timely and accurate preparation of management and statutory financial information, with a focus on process improvement and ensuring that appropriate controls and reconciliations are in place and maintained (including statutory obligations) and meeting key stakeholder requirements.

Your duties and responsibilities for this role will include, but not be limited to:-

Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Oversee the daily operations of the accounting support team
Preparation, review and distribution of daily, weekly and monthly financial management reports
Co-ordinating and preparing the annual financial budget models and the half and annual audit requirements.
Review and analyse P&L reports, ensuring trends are understood against budget and prior years
Coordinate meetings with Group Finance team to provide explanations for variances and exceptional items/activity
Review and approve monthly payroll
Ongoing development, support and mentoring of the team (currently 5 FTEs)
Liaise with Function Heads and HR to ensure full understanding and commentary on budget outputs (e.g. headcount, strategy, initiatives and projects)
Ownership of Global Cash Flow model ensuring accuracy of monthly update process including explanation of variances from previous versions and clear articulation of the future position

About you

You will be an experienced and highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant looking to progress your career by being a full member of an international accounting body. You will be a quick study, fast paced and eager to participate and lead a high performing team.

Skills & Experience

Senior professional (CA/CPA qualified) with vast post qualification experience
Demonstrated people management/leadership experience with a team of at least 3+ staff
Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a global organisation
Sound understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and compliance environment
Previous experience in a professional services environment is desirable
Experience of working with Elite 3e or Cognos TM1 is desirable
