Paediatric Speech Pathologist
Paediatric Speech Pathologists:
Are you a sensational speechie who’s keen to design your own job? If so, we need to hear from you.
Who are we?
A.B Speech is a small, paediatric speech pathology service. We’re all about our clients, (like ALL about them), and for us, creating a great work environment is just as important as providing an impeccably high level of service. Our wait list of clients is quickly growing larger than our PD wish list, and that’s saying something. It’s time to hire a new face.
What will we offer you?
First of all, the opportunity to build your own role (in a sense). Work as many hours as you’d like, be paid a salary or work as a contractor. Focus on work-life balance, or focus on maximising earnings. It’s up to you. The most important thing for us is hiring the RIGHT person. You’ll get to be part of something amazing and be compensated well with a very competitive wage. We have a clinic at Springwood, but also offer mobile speech services. Our team is fun and relaxed. We offer you 1:1 professional mentoring, as well as the potential to arrange external mentoring if needed. We offer you a wonderful client base with dedicated families. The ones that makes you say to your friends ‘OMG, a boy at work said the funniest thing today! I just love him!’. We also offer you ample professional development opportunities.
What do we need from you?
- This goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway. You need a recognised degree in speech pathology.
- Member of speech pathology Australia
- Current working with children ‘blue’ card (or ability to acquire one)
- Professional indemnity insurance
- High level of written and verbal communication skills (as in communicate EVERYTHING and say what you mean)
- Commitment to developing professionally (complacency has no place here…)
- Ability to ‘gel’ beautifully with clients and their families
- Open driver’s license (just car is fine. Don’t need you do drive a boat or anything
Desirable but not totally essential
- Experience working with children with disabilities
- Experience with AAC

If you feel you’re the speechie unicorn we’re looking for, please send us a cover letter and resume. Make sure you outline (in your letter) why you decided to choose speech pathology as your career. New grads and experienced clinicians are encouraged to apply. Role will commence in January 2022, so applications are open for current students graduating at the end of the year.
