As such we are looking for Mechanical Fitters to join our Production Team.

As a Mechanical Fitter with Kuwait Steel you duties will include but will not be limited to:

Carrying out preventive, predictive, breakdown and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment, instruments and facilities whether the plant is on operation or shutdown.
Preparing all necessary spares and performs off-line repair works of equipment & components.
Supporting maintenance objectives of optimum equipment reliability, availability and safety at minimum cost through excellent workmanship and efficient use of spare.
Supporting Production goals to meet tonnage targets & produce superior quality reinforcing bar.
Performing duties assignment to Centralize Maintenance Department in any plant of Kuwait Steel.
Repairing damaged or defective equipment, assemblies and sub-assemblies in the whole plant like gearboxes, air blowers, compressors, overhead cranes, centrifugal pumps, sump pumps, various rollers and gear-motors using wrenches, hammers, spanners, specialized tools and instruments during breakdown and mill shutdown
Performing preventive maintenance activities like periodic servicing, cleaning, bolt tightening of binding machines, cold shear, overhead cranes, condition-based/tonnage based replacement of knives, push rods, troughs, rollers, conveyors, cylinders, wire ropes, bearings and others.
Performing maintenance activities during roughing change, size change & mill breakdown when needed.
Attending breakdowns and minimizing delays and un-planned shutdowns and conducts delay analysis
Reconditioning all hydraulics and pneumatic cylinders using applicable repair kits.
Maintaining overhead cranes by condition-based replacement of wire ropes, wheels and brake elements and fixed-time servicing of the cranes moving, rotating parts
Aligning machines and equipment using precision instruments, i.e. SKF Laser alignment tool, dial gauge indicator, vernier calipers and micrometers

Skills

Knowledge in blue print reading and schematic drawings.
Knows basic predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance principles.
Knowledge in basic Plant Mechanics such as welding, cutting, machine fitting,, machine alignment and installation
Knowledge of how to read calipers, micrometers and other precision instruments.
Knowledge of how to operate infrared thermometer, vibrometer, electronic stethoscope, induction heater, high pressure cleaner, radial drill, power hacksaw and concrete drill, pneumatic wrench, pneumatic descale, spray gun and optical level.
Knowledge of how to operate and repair specialized equipment/tools, such as SKF Laser Shaft Alignment tools, induction heater, oil separator, high pressure cleaner, transfer car, Forklift, Man lift and overhead cranes.
Ability to work as a team with other employees, work overtime and to be called for emergency breakdown.
