Job Description

Robotics Engineering Centre (REC) is being setup to be a focal point for robotics system engineering to enable adoption and translation of robotics technology being developed in the R&D ecosystem into industry or public sector end-users. The lead of REC will need to be working closely with National Robotics Programme and A*STAR in setting up robotics system engineering capability to uplift and standardise such capability within the research performers as well as robotics companies/system integrators.
Job scope:
-Define & Drive REC projects ( with technology translation startegy)
-Build consensus from NRP and A*STAR to determine projects to go into RECs
-Develop and formalise a robotics system engineering framework
-Evaluate requirements provided by end-users and translate them into technical requirements for validation
-Design and propose interfaces and communication between subsystems
-Review systems & subsystems includeing software/hardware test plans & provide recommendations for improvements
-Build partnership with other tech groups and functional units in A*STAR in delivering its projects
-Uplift local ecosystem (A*STAR technical groups, system integrators, etc.) on system engineering through knowledge transfer and best-practice sharing
-Coordinate and manage the resources required for REC execution
Job requirements
-Bachelor/Masters degree in Electrical, computer science or electronics or equivalent degree with relevant experience in automation & systems engineering. Doctoral degree with industrial experience also considered
-7-8 years in robotic automation industry or system integration & related technology development experience.
-Good communication and interpersonal skills. Planning and organization, Teamwork & Leadership
-Hardware and software architecture design, System integration, System design and specification, Electronics and SW specifications, electro-mechanical controls
