We are currently recruiting for a GENERAL OPERATOR for our clients who are an international company and market leaders in their industry based at their Corby site in Northamptonshire With an early finish on a Friday.

TITLE: GENERAL OPERATOR
SALARY: £10.00ph – £12.50ph [D.O.E] + Shift allowance
BENEFITS: Shift Allowance & enhanced overtime rates, Company pension, Paid Days Off
LOCATION: Corby, Northamptonshire easy links from Kettering, Raunds, Rushden, Wellingborough, Northampton.
DURATION: Permanent
HOURS: Monday – Friday 7.00am – 3.30pm | 2.00pm – 10.00pm with regular overtime
START DATE: Immediate

The General Operator position is a varied role covering different areas within the Factory. The key area will be within the Sorting Department, but will include other areas as indicated below.

General – This position is a varied role and will involve working within other departments; these will include, but not be limited to heat treatment, packing, picking and shipping. The role is cross functional and therefore requires adaptability to support the variety of duties as instructed from the responsible Manager. The successful Operator must possess the ability to display sound judgement and able to take instruction due to the varied nature of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure the correct setting of the various bowl types, manual and automatic, are set in accordance to procedures and work instructions.
Responsible for the removal of all damaged and defective product.
To ensure all routing stages are booked through Tran collector
To operate the department equipment, processing the components
To monitor and maintain records of all process conditions as laid out in the works instructions.
Packing of finished product according to packing instructions, box sizes and box quantities.
Location of packed goods into the stores.
Picking of product from the stores ready for dispatch
Preparation of goods for dispatch and loading of goods for dispatch
Ensuring that all goods are placed in collection area for external carriers
Moving raw material to location and booking into system
Any other duties as may be reasonably requested

Person Specification

Product produced conforms to workmanship standards
Timely completion of all production batches, in line with the work schedule
Conforms to all safety and EHS regulations.
Accuracy of packing, picking and shipping (item, lot, location, special instructions)
High accuracy of finished stock and raw material
