An exciting opportunity exists for a National Logistics Manager to join a global organisation. The responsibilities of the National Logistics Manager will be to coordinate and manage all distribution centre and warehousing activity, including effective leadership of warehouse personnel and management of administrative tasks in-line with internal KPI’s and customer expectations whilst maintaining safety, quality, cost and efficiency.

What you will be doing

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the quality to service delivery, leading accreditation and risk management for the company the key areas of this role include;

Strategic direction and management of the distribution and logistics function
Effectively managing all transport operations
Managing the Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne Warehouses
Controlling of finished goods and influence WIP inventory nationally
Reviewing stocking policies and quantities for all finished products and change as necessary, ensuring minimisation of employed working capital, whilst achieving IFOT targets
Managing Inventory control (stock takes, cycle counts, analysis) and reverse logistics
Reviewing inventory/surplus stock reports to determine need for improvement
Reporting on present/future distribution needs and adhere to customer’s requirements
Negotiating major freight contracts
Developing, implementing and improving supply chain management systems
Providing expert input into supply chain improvement projects
Financial/budget management
Leading and managing people towards common goals in line with business and customer demands
Management of employee issues and support for supervisors in the same
Application of relevant industrial instruments such as enterprise agreement/s and involvement in bargaining as required
Relationship management – with Sales, Manufacturing, Marketing, Purchasing, Customer Service and Finance as appropriate for achieving customer requirements
