Job Description

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Receive, collect and sort samples

·      Perform incoming, in-process and outgoing quality checks in a timely manner

·      Document all test results accurately and report deviations

·      Investigate anomalies

·      Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures

·      Follow all Quality Control plans

·      Maintain, calibrate, validate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment

·      Participate, if any, in inspection of installations

·      Manage stocks and orders

·      Follow up on audit findings

·      Upkeep laboratory standards and participate in laboratory improvement initiatives

·      Take part in shift handover meetings

·      Other duties as assigned

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

·      Partake in all HSEQ activities

·      Enforce waste management

·      Monitor and minimise the environmental impact and energy consumption of laboratory activities

·      Participate in risk studies

·      Incorporate and apply HSEQ corrective actions

·      Comply to HSEQ policies at all times

·      Achieve zero LTI

Participate, if any, in incident reporting

Job Requirements

Education: NITEC or Diploma in Material Science or Chemistry or equivalent

Knowledge: Organic chemistry, analytical chemistry

Skills: Microsoft Office, LIMS, SAP

Soft skills: Self-driven team player with good communication skills; able to plan and priorities
