Novum Lifesciences is seeking a Laboratory Technician to be responsible for the technical performance and efficient and effective operation of the Bundaberg laboratory in accordance with all relevant rules and regulations.

Our mission is to improve the efficiency and profitability of producers by facilitating the optimal use of crop production inputs through monitoring, testing, training and consulting services that represent the worlds’ best practices in crop management systems.

Key Result Area

• Preparing samples for extraction
• Prepare and dilute lab samples in preparation for analysis
• Preparation of reagents (buffers, extracts) and standards
• Perform assays on AAS, ICP, DA and UV-Vis spectrophotometer
• Maintenance of AAS, ICP, DA and UV-Vis spectrophotometer
• Operation of DIM for samples
• Operation of pH and EC meter
• Conversion of results using regression analysis
• Organic carbon preparation and analysis
• Operation of the LECO

Required Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory procedures and instrumentation (spectrophotometer, AAS, ICP, discrete analyser, LECO) is preferred
• Certificate III in laboratory skills (or equivalent) is preferred

Renumeration will be based on qualifications and previous experience.

This is a part-time position with an estimate of between 16-32 hours of work per week. Seasonal variability may apply.
