NYC Health + Hospitals/Gouverneur provides primary and specialty outpatient care through its Diagnostic and Treatment Center (D&TC) and residential care for the elderly and infirmed in its 295-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). Gouverneur recently completed a $250 million modernization project to offer enhanced, cutting edge healthcare services in a state of the art space. NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham, Gouverneur’s D&TC is the largest freestanding D&TC in New York, providing more than 250,000 visits per year on the Lower East Side. Gotham Health| Gouverneur provides a comprehensive array of on-site services, including primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, dentistry, behavioral health, podiatry, optometry, ENT, digital imaging, infectious disease, and other specialties and sub-specialties. NYC Health + Hospitals/Gouverneur Skilled Nursing Facility provides 24-hour care for individuals in need of short-term, long-term care or hospice care. The facility is rated as a Best Nursing Home by US News and World Report. Post-Acute Care services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and audiology, and vocational rehabilitation.

Job Description

  • Function as primary liaison to Gouverneur’s Community Advisory Board.
    • Provider administrative support to the CAB.
    • Ensure proper application and implementation of the CAB bylaws and other pertinent H+H policies.
    • Support CAB so that it operates as effectively and efficiently as possible, and implement corrective actions when policies are not being adhered to.
    • Maintain good understanding of the CAB bylaws and other policies pertinent to the CAB operations and recognize instances when guidelines are not being followed.
    • Address CAB issues as they arise, including the development and implementation of a corrective action plan.
    • Arrange and attend all monthly Community Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, including scheduling conference room, preparing agenda, minutes, attendance sheets, and any other literature necessary. Also, arranging the meals for the CAB meetings.
    • Assisting the CAB in organizing and preparing the Annual Public Meeting, the Annual Legislative Meeting, and the Annual Legislative Albany Trip.
    • Preparing decks for the CAB, including requests for funding.
    • Research and prepare materials for the CAB.
    • Weekly Conference Calls with Chair and other officers to discuss the week’s deliverables.
  • Function as primary liaison to Gouverneur’s Auxiliary Fund.
    • Help to identify opportunities for ambulatory care to engage with the Auxiliary.
    • Complete Auxiliary request forms.
    • Work with Director of the Auxiliary to provide any needed information to support Auxiliary requests.
    • Follow up with relevant departments to ensure purchases are completed as approved by the Auxiliary.
  • Supports CMO and ambulatory care leadership team in daily needs, including:
    • Data collection and analysis.
    • Organizing meetings and taking minutes.
    • Disseminating minutes to meeting attendees.

Minimum Qualifications

1. a. High School Diploma or equivalent, and four years of clerical experience including two years as a stenographic secretary; or,
b. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a stenographic secretary; or,
c. An Associate Degree with specialization in Secretarial Science and three years of clerical experience, one year of which shall have been as a stenographic secretary.
2. The ability to take dictation accurately, rapidly and to transcribe. Ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy in all internal and external contact relationships and to exercise initiative in the preparation of routine correspondence, in handling administrative details and to maintain confidentiality of all executive and Corporate matters.
3. High level verbal, written and secretarial skills and knowledge required; or,
4. A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.
