Job Description

We are currently looking for a Contracts Administrator to join our QATAR operations. Our company is an international firm and has been an established main contractor in the Qatari construction market.

Key Accountabilities:

• Generates and maintains documentation for analyzing, negotiating, and drafting change/variation orders with Client and subcontractors.

• Collaborates with all Team Members as deemed necessary on project contract and subcontract matters.

• Conducts contract administration to ensure proper contract fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and contract specifications. Accordingly, drafts letters and keeps the records.

• When required, advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyses data; and maintains historical information.

• Progress Claim and Contractual matters, assist the Project team in original routine progress reports related to the contracts signed and assigned.

• Review and comment on progress reports. Updates the Areas of Concern for the progress reports together with the status of Variations and/or claims notified and received.

• Monitors and administers the business provisions of the Contracts signed and assigned subcontracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Advise the Contracts Manager regarding scope, financial, and risk issues and concerns of applicable contracts and to prepare its report accordingly.

• Identifies contractual problems and possible claims by Client and subcontractors and takes appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory resolution. Identifies contractual problems and possible claims by Client and subcontractors and takes appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory resolution.

• Provides support service when required in “interpretation of contract” during the course of the contract and ensures its close-out is in accordance with established procedures.

• Follows up on problems demanding management attention to ensure a timely response to a client

• Prepares tender inquiry documents based on work scope and other requirements according to policy guidelines.

• Assists in the writing and preparation of the scope of works, BOQ’s and Subcontracts documentation, negotiating the subcontracts, administer the contracts through to final payments and retentions.

• Participates as a member of the negotiating team for technical and commercial evaluation of Subcontracts.

• Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness,

• Monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing etc.)

• Ensure Contract close-out, extension or renewal.

• Monitors compliance to contract requirements ensuring all conditions are satisfied before approval of the final invoice.

• Initiates and/or conducts meetings with Client/Subcontractors concerning contractual problems as requested by the Project / contracts Manager.

• Assists in compiling and preparing bid documents and bidders list, including inquiry preparations, requests for bids and recommendations for award of contract.

• Dealing with Bonds and Insurances

• Additional responsibilities will be defined in the relevant process procedure.

Skills

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Law

• Minimum of 5 years experience as Contract Administrator

• Relevant experience in Ashghal Road/Infra Projects

• Locally Available

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with contract administration
