Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.    processes & procedures, and ensure compliance;

2.    Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

3.    Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow etc.), monthly, quarterly and annually for presentation to the Company’s management.

4.    Ensure strong financial control reporting processes are in place and are executed with excellence

5.    Determine Capex versus Opex for all projects in accordance with GAAP

6.    Create a chart of accounts and classify and code transactions in accordingly

7.    Ensure that cost centres are applied company wide

8.    Adhere to Company Policy and Procedures and accounting standards

9.    Ensure the accuracy and authenticity of all accounting transactions as per the IFRS guidelines.

10. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing and reporting.

11. Provide necessary information and data required by the Auditors (Statutory & Internal)

12. Ensure the quarterly reviews and annual auditing as per management deadlines.

13. Proper Accounting, monitoring and reconciliation for Intercompany transactions.

14. Monitoring and reporting related party transactions.

15. Administer payment and reimbursement processes.

16. Ensuring timely collection from debtors.

17. Responsible for accounting processes & tasks such as AR, AP, GL, account reconciliations;

18. Ensuring appropriate provisions for Zakat & VAT and coordinating for final Certificates from the GAZT.

19. Monitoring Fixed Assets Accounting and depreciation computation.

20. Proper and timely booking of provisions, accruals and prepaid expenses

21. Appropriate and accurate provisions for End of Service benefits.

22. Keeping track of important Insurance policies of the company.

23. Supports budget and forecasting activities.

24. Competent in making 3 to 5 year’s financial projections.

25. Collaborates with the other department managers to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the company.

26. Monitors and analyses department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

27. Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

28. Ensure that efficient cash flow is achieved in the entity.

29. Respond to inquiries from the Managing Director, GCFO, and other department managers regarding financial results and special reporting.

30. Work with GCFO, to ensure clean and timely quarterly review and year end audit.

31. Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

32. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

33. Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.

34. Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues.

35. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advice on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

36. Be the main contact for various teams and facilitate resolution of key issues impacting the Finance and accounting department and the wider organisation.

37. Prepare the KPIs for all direct reports.

38. Additional duties as directed by the Managing Director and CFO.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1.    Minimum 5 year’s managerial experience in finance and accounting

2.    Must be PC proficient and have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point.

3.    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

4.    Strong interpersonal, supervisory skills required.

5.    Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

6.    First-hand experience of planning, budgeting, forecasting and Financial Analysis.

7.    Consolidation of group accounts,

8.    Working experience in computation and filing of Zakat & VAT returns

9.    Report writing skills.

10. English language at a professional level a must.
