Project HSE Engineer
Job Description
Job overview:
- Directs the resources and activities of the Division to support the HSE programs by providing advice and guidance to the Company Senior Management.
- Continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the Division to create a culture that prioritizes effective HSE and balances overall associated costs.
- To establish Project HSE Plan including HSE Policy (based on Corp. QHSE Policy) and continually improve it.
- Assist and coordinate with the Project Manager and all personnel assigned to the project in establishing an overall Project HSE Management Plan based on Companies IMS Management standards and Project requirements.
- Advise on setting up the improvement guidelines for Project HSE Management System to project employees. Ensure improvements are implemented and results are feedback to employees.
- Coordinate with Engineering HSE Engineer and manage Construction HSE staff.
- Coordinate and communicate with the Client on Project HSE issues.
- Produce and develop the Project HSE Training Plan. Ensure implementation of the plan. Ensure that training records are maintained.
- Ensure that HSE is applied in line with the Project HSE Design Criteria to the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Mechanical Completion phases of the Project.
- Ensure that the project meets international standards.
Key objectives
- Establish Project HSE audit program & schedule and perform the Project HSE Audit within the project organization.
- Monitor Project HSE System activities such as Engineering HSE and Field HSE activities based on Companies Management system and Project requirements.
Skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Environment, Occupational Safety & Health or Engineering from a recognized institute with a current relevant health and safety qualification(e.g. NEBOSH Diploma/IOSH/CSP Certificate or equivalent)
Experience
(10) years relevant and similar capacity in HSE preferably in Construction
Language Skills
Excellent command in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
Computer Skills
Proficient computer user especially Microsoft Office package.
Technical Skills
Excellent legislative knowledge and the ability to implement and manage HSE legislation
Thorough and accurate with attention to detail
Prepared to adopt a flexible approach to working hours and arrangements
Experience in managing HSE on large-scale Projects
