The Role

Job Purpose 1. Perform routine sample preparation for sample analysis and testing. 2. Assists in the performance of specific Laboratory procedures under the supervision of Medical Technologist

Key accountabilities

Principal Accountabilities 1. Centrifuges body fluids including blood and aliquoting serum. 2. Assists the Medical Technologist in the performance of Laboratory tests including processing of samples of stool and urine. 3. Assists with business office functions such as clinical order entry, labelling, processing, send out test/reports, answering enquiries when time permits. 4. Preparation of general solutions for Medical Technologist. 5. Manage the inventory of consumables. 6. Maintain of CAP QC material reception record, temperature record and update of Work Instructions. 7. Distributes clinical specimens to the individual sections of the Laboratory. 8. Any other duties as assigned from time to time by management. Key Performance Indicators 1. Competency in the type of tests performed in various sections of Laboratory. 2. Accuracy in distributing clinical specimens to various sections of the Laboratory. 3. Meeting Laboratory TAT in regards to processing time in spinning and aliquoting. 4. Maintenance of proper documentation of equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

Professional / Educational Qualifications 1. GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ Level with Science subject or equivalent, ITE. Skills & Knowledge. 2. At least 2 years in related area in a medical Laboratory. 3. Training will be provided.
