BIM Coordinator (Civil/Infrastructure)
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Position Overview:
The BIM Coordinator will determine the best practice for BIM Implementation in complex infrastructure projects, apply advanced BIM and digital ingineering techniques and procedures, and select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Support the Project Delivery Design Team(s) in day to day BIM implementation activities
• Provide progress and performance updates on fortnightly and monthly basis. 3) Record, store and maintain all formal correspondences related to BIM activities
• Support the deployment (hardware and software) and provide hands-on BIM software training for Project team members
• Develop and extract 2D geometry from the models for internal reviews and coordination meetings
• Ensure Project Information Model (PIM) are delivered in accordance with the agreed TIDP, MIDP and CDE protocol
• Develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Control templates following the organization’s and Project’s quality procedures and the Project’s BIM production methods and standards
• Develop and maintain object libraries and catalogues based on the agreed LOD matrix
• Measure and ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with Project standards and requirements
• Perform Quality Assurance and Control checks on models and maintain tracker (both hard and soft copies) to confirm geometrical and non-geometrical information compliance with the Project’s design and BIM requirements
• Review, monitor and report on the development of clash interference and fully coordinated models
• Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs
• Prepare own discipline model and/or content for internal reviews and coordination meetings
• Supervise the BIM modelers, collaborate and coordinate with the Design Team design-changes and model challenges
• Prepare models and reports for constructability analysis
• Validate and export model geometry and data to schedules for internal design and commercial activities
Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Ideally 7 years’ experience in Design or Construction
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in in modelling and drafting, either from a Consultant or Contractor Environment on Infrastructure Project(s)
• Possess excellent oral communication skills with an ability to form effective relationships with Project Delivery Team, Client (Appointing Party), and Contractor (Lead Appointed Party) under time pressure
• Possess the ability to develop analytical reports and presentations
• Experience with ISO and UK BIM Standards
• Proficient in a range of BIM authoring, scripting, design review, coordination, simulations, and collaboration applications and/or platforms e.g. Revit, Civil 3D, Open Buildings Designer, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Cost X, Synchro, BIM 360, ProjectWise etc.
• Middle East/Gulf Countries experience preferred but not essential
